FUNDAMENTAL BELIEFS
Pushed by Purpose
Curtains for Classrooms is a faith-based organization. Much like curtains beautify a home and provide a covering for windows, allowing light and blocking light heat from the sun, Curtains for Classrooms provides a covering for child care programs and their staff by bridging the gap between their existing knowledge and understanding of quality and developmentally appropriate practices. Curtains for Classrooms desires to help program administrators and teachers identify and remove barriers that hinder teachers from providing children with a quality education experience.

Advocating for All

Backed by evidenced-based research, we believe that all children can learn and all children deserve a quality education regardless of socio-economic status, parent education level, and family stability. As a result of this, we believe that the teacher is the number one indicator of quality in the early childhood classroom. Much like an open curtain allows light to enter a room, through intentional planning and meaningful interactions, an open-minded teacher can provide children with high-quality care.
Committed to Change
We believe that transformative and sustainable change begins with making a choice and a commitment to consistently doing what's best for children. There is no quick fix. To eliminate the pressure to perform, Curtains for Classrooms is intentional about working with programs, owners, directors, and teachers who have a heart for children, are open to learning, and are willing to engage in reflective practices throughout the year.
"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
Powered by Professionalism

Our team exemplifies honesty and integrity in professional practice which includes abiding by Bright from the Start Rules and Regulations and GaPSC Code of Ethics for Educators. Early Childhood educators are practicing professionals, are always learning, and have never fully arrived. Curtains for Classrooms is committed to staying abreast of the latest developmentally appropriate trends in early childhood through continued professional development and alignment with the quality rating improvement system.
